Thai Social Security
Companies are required to register new employees onto social security within 30 days of hiring them. Social security is not only a requirement for Thai staff but also for foreigners employees legally with a work permit. It is the responsibility of the company to make social security payments on behalf of their employees by deducting 5% of total salary capped at 1500 baht per month. The company must also pay 50% of this total themselves
Thai Social Security Calculations
5% of ฿12000 = ฿600 paid by the company and ฿600 paid by employee
5% of ฿20,000 (taken from cap of ฿15,000) = ฿750 paid by company and ฿750 paid by employee
